Hidrock Properties is a privately held commercial real estate investment firm founded in 1982 with roots in the Hidary family office.
Over more than four decades, Hidrock has invested in, developed and operated commercial real estate across multiple property types and markets. The firm has completed more than 60 projects representing over $2 billion in transactions, with experience spanning retail, hospitality, office and multifamily properties.
Hidrock’s investment approach is grounded in careful investment selection, hands-on asset management and a long-term perspective. Throughout its history, the firm has invested alongside family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors and has built longstanding relationships with lenders, operating partners and other real estate professionals.
Building on its history in New York and South Florida, Hidrock continues to expand its investment activities across the United States, with a focus on acquiring income-producing commercial properties that offer attractive current cash flow and opportunities for long-term value creation.
Where It All Started
Hidrock’s roots trace back to the 1940s, when Jacob Hidary and his sons founded M. Hidary & Company, an importer and wholesaler of apparel. The family business established an entrepreneurial tradition that would continue across generations.
In the late 1970s, Jacob’s grandson, Jack A. Hidary, joined M. Hidary & Company and was soon tasked with leading the family’s investments in real estate. What began with a series of investments on behalf of the Hidary family grew to include friends and other investment partners.
In 1982, Jack founded Hidrock to manage and expand those real estate investments. More than four decades later, Hidrock continues to build on those family-office roots, investing its own capital alongside that of its partners and maintaining the long-term perspective on which the firm was founded.
